Tips for Google does not change your titles

At the end of August, Google launched an update of its algorithm designed to replace the titles of the URLs that shows in their results to be more accessible and legible, “said Daniel Sullivan from Google.

Google uses several different sources to automatically determine the title link, but you can indicate your preferences by following our guidelines for writing <title> descriptive elements.

  • Another text contained on the page
  • Anchor text on the page
  • Text within links pointing to the page

  • Make sure that each page of your site has its own title specified in the <title> item.
  • Create unique titles for each page and avoid the repetitive text.
  • Write concise titles and avoid unnecessarily long texts.
  • Use descriptive titles and avoid generic words such as “start” for the home page.
  • Do not repeat the text in the titles by adding more keywords.
  • Mark your titles when it is appropriate by adding the name of your site at the beginning of them.
  • Be careful with not allowing search engines to track their pages.
